Aerial observations come in a variety of applications. Most popular are situations like reality images, industrial work site images, commercial building images, city orientation images, vacation and resort images as well as concert and entertainment images. Not high on the radar of most are inspection imaging, wildland encroachment on homes images, search & rescue, fire fighting, suspect tracking, SWAT team observation and the list goes on.
Photo Imaging
Fairly straight forward but here are some details. I can offer 48 megapixel photos which when cropped, can really enlarge a subject. The dealership photo to the left is an example.In addition, just because one can go high doesn’t mean one needs to. This photo to represents an unique angle difficult to get from the ground. More complex is the use of LIDAR, and or high resolution photos used with software to create 3D Images. One of the most useful advances is the incorperation of FLIR (Forward Looking InfraRed) to find hotspots in fires or equipment or even locations where heat may be leaking out of a building in a roof inspection for example.
Great for esthetic purposes as in displaying a property for sale, commercial development or business promotion. It is also great for showcasing a community or event. Video’s great advantage over pictures is not only cinematic but prooves itself providing situational awareness. For example, Is the wind blowing and how hard? Obvioulsy for public agencies seeing around the bend, so to speak, is highly advantagious.
